ABOUT ME

I am pursuing a degree in Recreation and Health Education at the University of Victoria, and I am aspiring to attain a career in the field of recreation and sport. Born and raised in Surrey, BC, I moved to Victoria for my schooling. I have fallen in love with Victoria and spend my free time with friends exploring new beaches and parts of the city.

I have always had a positive outlook on life and try to find the reasoning for every challenge that comes my way. I have a strong work ethic and take pride in everything I do, in both my professional and personal life. I'm creative, warm-hearted and full of energy, and I am always up for a new adventure. I have begun to explore different areas within the field of recreation, and I am looking forward to new opportunities to further my knowledge.

My work experience within the field of recreation entails lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons, coaching sports camps and soccer clinics, and interning for a provincial sport organization.

Throughout my life, I have played a variety of sports. During my early years I participated in tee ball, basketball, field hockey, track and field, cross country and soccer; however, my favourite sport is volleyball. For over ten years, I played on school and club teams, and in recreational leagues. I also helped coach skill development clinics and a high school volleyball team.

My passion for living an active and healthy lifestyle is rooted in my love for sport. From a young age I recognized the effect that physical activity had on my health, and I believe it is necessary for everyone to engage in recreation to improve their overall wellbeing and quality of life.
